| | I have fabulous things to tell you guys. First of all, my car is fixed! At least for now. People from work knew my car was dead, so they all tried to tell me what was wrong with it. The battery, no the starter, no the alternator...or maybe it's a spark plug? Needless to say I can now name all parts of a car's engine with my eyes blindfolded and my hands tied behind my back. Oh, and I can give you prices for each part as well.
I was working at Applebees on Saturday night when some regulars from the bar overheard me talking about my car. One of the guys was the one who bought me food that one time, and I thought we were friends, but then he invited me over to his house that night, even though I'm younger than his daughter. Anyway. He and this other guy work with cars, or something, so they said they would go to my house take a look at it. They came back fifteen minutes later, tossed me the keys, and said my car was waiting for me in the parking lot. Incredible.
It's one of those things that reminds me all over again how beautiful life is, and how we are all here just to help each other out.
Next up: my friends from church threw me a surprise birthday party last night. I've never had one before, even though I've planned plenty of them for other people. My birthday isn't for another 11 days, so when I walked in and they yelled surprise I just stood there, thinking the surprise was for someone else. It took them awhile to convince me that the surprise was for me.
I guess that explains why one of the guys had called me earlier in the day to sing happy birthday to me (I thought he was just being weird, but apparently he thought it really was my birthday).
So yeah. Lots of good things. And more are to come...tonight a friend is cooking dinner for Erin and me, tomorrow Chelsea comes back to Nashville, and Friday we leave for World Race training camp.
Life!
